Girls Beware of Manicure Kits and Lipstick

Posted on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at 5:01 am

There has been a voluntary recall of manicure kits and lipstick.

More specifically, if you have recently purchased a manicure kit that promotes the popular TV Show, “High School Musical,” or a key chain that sports a dangling, Wet ‘n’ Wild-brand lip gloss, you are endangering yourself to exposure of excess amounts of lead.

The U.S. Consumer Produce Safety Commission announced that both products needed to be pulled off of the shelves of Rite-Aid, Wal-mart and Kmart, where the products are concentrated the most.  The manicure kit comes with a glittered pouch, which is the toxic part of the kit.  All other parts of the kit are safe.

If you or someone you know have been exposed to a product that had since been recalled, please contact your Racine products liablity lawyer at 800-242-2874 for further information.

Woman Looses Teeth from Dental Malpractice

Posted on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 7:01 am

Last week, a woman went in for a routine dental appointment.  In this particular scenario, the woman was seeing the dentist to replace a missing tooth in the front of her mouth.

The local, Stamford dentist decided to put the woman under anesthesia without her consent.  During that time, he pulled 3 upper teeth instead of the 1.  When she awoke, he had placed a temporary bridge in her mouth to fill the gap.

When her new teeth arrived, he refused to cement them in, saying that complex and expensive dental reconstructive surgery was needed.

The dentist made a profit by performing unnecessary dental procedures on the woman.

This is a very serious case, as the woman lost money and a great deal of self-confidence while enduring this happening.  If you or someone you know has undergone a similar situation, it is important to contact your Racine dental malpractice lawyer at 800-242-2874 to discuss compensation for your suffering.

Tough Driving Conditions in Racine County

Posted on Monday, January 12th, 2009 at 7:01 am

Sheriff Deputy Kevin Kazmierski, of Racine County, WI, has been responsible for keeping up with the vehicular accidents seen during the past few days.  The days can best be summarized with two words: spin outs and accidents.  The deputies in Racine County have been dealing with them all day.

For Kazmierski, keeping up with the numerous spin outs was challenging enough, let along attempting to pull them out of the ditches where they ended up.

“They just don’t slow down,” Kazmierski said.  He claims he and the other deputies weren’t even able to make it on to the interstate without seeing an SUV stuck along the on-ramp to I-94 in Sturtevant.

“Lots of cars are in the ditch.  Changing lanes is a big problem,” explains Cory Diltz, another deputy.  Another culprit is the thick ice blankets of snow.  Drivers claim the snow is their main problem.  Kazmierski holds that drivers are going too fast in the snow.  Therefore, the culprit for the vehicular accidents depends on who you ask.
