A police officer from Sturtevant and another driver were injured in a wreck Saturday. The accident occurred when the officer responded to a call, put on his lights, and then unintentionally hit the other car.

A 20-year-old man was riding in a friend's car Sunday morning when he was shot in the head. Medical officials took Ronnie McMorris Jr. to a Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa and said they expect McMorris to survive.

After police investigated the scene of the crime, an investigator said they found shell casings and holes in other vehicles struck by the gunfire.

While driving through an intersection at Main and Seventh street, a woman's car was hit by a Racine police squad car. Linda Heintz of Racine alledgedly ran the red light, and the squad car hit her while taking a left onto Main St.

The driver of a Smart car crashed into a sports utility vehicle at high speeds and fled the scene of the accident Thursday. The accident injured the SUV driver, who was taken to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa to treat minor injuries.

The Smart car that fled the scene was discovered at a Wal-Mart in Germantown later Thursday, and the driver was arrested promptly. Police said it is likely that both men will be charged in the accident.

According to witnesses, the two cars were driving at high speeds and making obscene hand gestures to each other when the accident occurred.

Early Sunday morning, a crash occurred in Florence County involving a single vehicle. Around 2am, the car was traveling along Wisconsin 70 near Tipler when it swerved to miss a deer, went off the road, rolled over and struck some trees.

There were two men in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The passenger was taken to Marquette General Hospital in critical condition and the driver was taken to Northstar Hospital.
