The risk of car batteries dying while driving

Posted on Monday, December 21st, 2009 at 6:23 am

Car batteries are designed to run and recharge while a car is in motion. However, some car batteries malfunction and shut off while a car is being driven.

When this occurs, many of the electric-powered car devices will turn off. This could cause the driver to lose control of his or her vehicle. If the vehicle is seriously damaged, then the driver or passengers may be injured in the accident.

One way to prevent such accidents is to check car batteries routinely to determine if there are any defects. These checks can usually be performed at service stations and other places that manufacture car batteries.

If you or anyone you know has been injured in a car accident caused by a defective car battery, contact the Racine car battery accident lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874.

The cause of rollover accidents

Posted on Wednesday, December 16th, 2009 at 3:54 am

Rollover accidents are one of the most dangerous types of single vehicle accidents. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 10,000 lives are lost in more than 280,000 rollover accidents each year.

Rollover accidents are generally the result of a car's stability in turns. For instance, cars with a high center of gravity and narrow track width are more likely to be involved in rollover accidents. These cars generally include sports utility vehicles and multi-passenger vans.

Debris can also be the leftover parts and pieces from an earlier car accident. This debris is so dangerous to other drivers because how it affects both drivers and their vehicles.

In many cases, when a driver sees debris, he or she will try to avoid the debris, which could cause other traffic problems or even wrecks. When the driver does not see the debris and runs over the debris, then the driver may lose control of his or her car, leading to a serious accident.

As heavy snows begin, car accidents will likely increase

Posted on Monday, December 7th, 2009 at 6:24 am

December in Wisconsin usually means a heavier than normal snowfall. With the extra snow, driving will likely be more dangerous.

These extra dangers are the result of the snow impairing a driver's ability to see clearly while driving. Also, the extra snow usually leads to more ice on the roads, which causes drivers to swerve and lose control of their vehicles more often.
