22-year-old Eric N. Aponte of Racine has been charged with sexual assault of a child under age 13.
Aponte allegedly assaulted a 4-year-old relative while the boy was at Aponte's apartment. Police are currently conducting an investigation.
If convicted of first-degree sexual assault of a child, Aponte could be sentenced to a maximum of 66 years in prison. He was taken into custody by police and is being held at the Racine County Jail.
