Bystander injured by flying debris from demolition

Posted under Racine personal injury attorneys

A bystander had to be taken to the hospital Sunday morning after debris from Orlando’s Amway Arena demolition hit and injured him. The 33 year-old man was two blocks away from the former home of the Orlando Magic when an eight-inch reinforcing bar hit his leg.

According to his wife, the man suffered a broken fibula and underwent surgery earlier this week. A friend who was with the victim recalls getting hit by pieces of concrete and seeing the rebar coming towards him.

No one else was hurt by the flying debris. The president of the demolition company went to the hospital and paid for all the man’s medical expenses.
