Nearly 21,000 Banzai in-ground pool water slides are being recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Wal-Mart Stores, and Toys R Us, Inc., after a woman died and two people were seriously injured while using the slides.
A young mother died after fracturing her neck. She was going down the slide when it partially deflated, causing her to hit her neck on the concrete edge of the pool. Another woman fractured her neck but survived, and a man became a quadriplegic in a similar accident.
Consumers should stop using the inflatable slides immediately and return them to any Wal-Mart or Toys R Us store for a full refund.
