Father sues camping company for wrongful death

Posted under wrong deaths attorneys

A Lake Forest father has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Wilderness Ventures after his 16-year-old daughter was killed last summer while on a student camping trip operated by the company.

The father is accusing Wilderness Ventures of willful and wanton conduct and negligence. He is seeking over $300,000, according to the Lake Forester. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office is treating her death as an accident.

The high school sophomore was with a dozen other teenagers on the camping trip when a 75-foot pine tree fell on top of her. She never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead at the scene.
