Three people were killed near Neillsville last Thursday where almost 50 feet of Clark County’s Highway M was washed away by the heavy rain. The rain created a ditch 50 feet wide and 12-15 feet deep where the drivers fell to their death.
Among the victims were a Milwaukee couple in their 50s and a 24 year-old female driver. Authorities were notified of the accidents when a passing motorists noticed the cars stacked on top of each other early Thursday morning.
According to the Journal Sentinel, the investigation is still underway. The National Weather Service says the area one to three inches of rain that day on top of four inches it received over the week.
