Racine Accident Ejects Driver from Vehicle

Posted under Car Accidents

An accident on Racine Street and 12th Street left two individuals with minor injuries. The accident occurred on the afternoon of Nov. 17 when a vehicle pulled onto 12th Street into traffic, causing a GMC Envoy and Toyota Corolla to collide. Witnesses stated one individual was ejected from the Envoy on impact.

Joanie Schoedl and her husband were in their home at the intersection of Racine Street when they heard the crash. They noticed the driver of the Corolla was “out of it” before attempting to pull her out of her vehicle. The couple says they witness one or two accidents a month at that intersection and are surprised there have yet to be any casualties.

Reports indicate there was one passenger in the Corolla and four passengers in the Envoy, including two children in the backseat. Two individuals were taken to the local hospital, but no serious injuries were reported. Racine Police were still cleaning up the accident as late as 6 p.m.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident as the driver responsible for the accident is still undetermined.
