Single-engine plane crash injures pilot

by Administrator 21. May 2010 02:52

A Wisconsin man was injured last week after crash landing into a farm field in Sheboygan Falls.

The pilot reported that he was experiencing engine trouble and attempted to redirect the plane back to the airport runway, but crashed during his return trip. The impact of the crash caused the single-engine aircraft to flip over with the pilot still inside. He survived the crash with minor injuries.

Mechanical failures and other product defects can be especially dangerous when one is piloting a plane or other vehicle. If you or someone you know has been hurt in an accident caused by a product defect, you may have grounds to initiate a lawsuit to recover compensation for your injuries and damages.

The risk of car batteries dying while driving

by Administrator 21. December 2009 06:23

Car batteries are designed to run and recharge while a car is in motion. However, some car batteries malfunction and shut off while a car is being driven.

When this occurs, many of the electric-powered car devices will turn off. This could cause the driver to lose control of his or her vehicle. If the vehicle is seriously damaged, then the driver or passengers may be injured in the accident.

One way to prevent such accidents is to check car batteries routinely to determine if there are any defects. These checks can usually be performed at service stations and other places that manufacture car batteries.

If you or anyone you know has been injured in a car accident caused by a defective car battery, contact the Racine car battery accident lawyers of Habush, Habush, & Rottier, S.C., at 800-242-2874.

The requirement for companies to put warnings on products

by Administrator 9. November 2009 07:31

Manufacturers are required to put warnings on their products. These warnings are intended to caution product users of any known and significant risks associated with the product.

For instance, many house cleaning products contain warnings cautioning users not to ingest or inhale the product. If such warnings are not found on products with knowable dangers, then the product manufacturer or distributor may be liable for damages.

If you or anyone you know has been injured by a product without proper warning, contact the Racine products liability lawyers of Habush, Habush, & Rottier, S.C., at 800-242-2874.

Food Poisoning

by Administrator 5. August 2009 03:32

In the last year, several food product recalls have occurred because of contamination by E coli or salmonella. Unfortunately, these products find their way onto grocery store shelves all too often.

When this happens, consumers are put at risk of food poisoning. While some cases can be mild and result in one bad day of illness, other cases can cause serious injury to the consumer and can even kill.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of food poisoning, contact the Racine food poisoning lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier, SC at 800-242-2874.

Former FDA Commissioner Against Bar on Lawsuits

by Administrator 14. May 2008 06:05
Former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner David Kessler, who served from 1990 to 1997, has come out against a proposed ban on lawsuits supported by the FDA and major food and drug companies. Under the legal doctrine known as preemption, states and consumers would no longer be able to sue companies over any products which had earned FDA approval. According to a copy of Kessler's testimony, the FDA is simply too underfunded to compete with the vast resources of major corporations. Its ability to catch potential problems with a new product is too limited to make preemption a viable doctrine. Other prominent opponents of the proposed bad, including actor Dennis Quaid, have also voiced concerns, saying that any ban on lawsuits would remove the threat of liability, the strongest incentive for large corporations to act responsibly and ensure the safety of their consumers. Pennsylvanian Residents Suffer from Radiation Aftermath

by Administrator 29. November 1999 18:11
Three-Mile-Island, which is located in Central Pennsylvania, could be considered just another small town in the middle of nowhere. It also has the reputation for harboring one of the worst Nuclear Power Plant accidents in the history of our country. In 1979, the residents of 3-Mile Island heard the shrill sirens and church alarms go off, while hearing radio announcements proclaiming that uncontrolled amounts of radiation had been released in the air.  30 years later, residents are still seeing and feeling the affects, yet nothing has been done to justice the people. Numerous residents have claimed intense nausea, vomiting, hair loss, metallic taste, diarrhea and unexplained deaths of their plants and animals. If you or a loved one has suffered due to extreme negligence on another's behalf, please contact your Racine personal injury lawyer at 800-242-2874 to discuss your situation.
