Toy Manufacturers Pushing for Lower Safety Regulations

Posted under 2e870b32-e0a2-4240-a86a-79fecd2edd48

Many companies that manufacture products for children are trying to lower the safety regulations imposed on their products. This push is coming after a recent act which strengthened the regulations on products after several accounts of unsafe toys were discovered.

Toy manufacturers are also not happy with a new database, developed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which would allow consumers to find out about complaints and injuries before buying a product. Republican lawmakers cut the Commission's budget for this database, saying that the database would create more fraudulent cases by enabling anyone to view the safety complaints of a product.

A child's safety should always be the first priority in the manufacturing and regulating of a product. If your child has suffered an injury from an unsafe toy, please contact the Racine defective child care product and toy lawyers of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® at 800-242-2874.
