The bodies of five Costa Concordia passengers have been found by divers more than two months after the cruise ship capsized along the Tuscan coast. Two more passengers are still unaccounted for, including an American couple, and are presumed dead.
The death toll is now up to 30. Nearly 4,200 passengers and crew members were on board when the ship crashed into rocks in mid January. Officials were not able to immediately identify the age or sex of the bodies.
Francesco Schettino, the ship’s captain, has been under house arrest after being charged with manslaughter and abandoning the ship before all passengers and crew members were evacuated.
