A stray pit bull attacked a seven year-old boy from Tomah last week, forcing doctors to use more than 100 stitches and staples to repair the severe lacerations on the boy’s head, neck, and arms.
The young boy was in his driveway when the dog approached him and suddenly latched on to his neck. His mother says she kicked the dog and tried to shield her son. He was transported by ambulance to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.
The boy was hospitalized for four days before being released this week. Authorities have captured the stray pit bull and have euthanized it.
