A 19 year-old Fond du Lac County woman was sentenced to one year in county jail on Monday after pleading no contest to three counts of negligent vehicular homicide. The teenager was driving an SUV with three of her friends last winter when she lost control and flipped the vehicle several times.
According to the police, the girl was driving 108 mph on Beechnut Drive at the time of the crash. The road has a posted speed limit of 35 mph but had a 50 mph speed limit when the accident took place.
The Green Bay Press Gazette reports that the 19 year-old will be able to choose the county in which she will serve her time, which starts in six months. She will also be subjected to random drug testing, is not allowed in bars, and is not allowed to use drugs during her six-year probation.
