A total of 89 snow-related accidents were responded to by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department last thursday, between 7:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. due to heavy snowfall amounting to 7.4 inches at the Kenosha Regional Airport and 8 inches in Pleasant Prairie, according to the National Weather Service. The police department’s Sgt. Dan Ruth said that the accidents ranged from 19 motor vehicle accidents and five personal injury accidents to 21 cases of property damage. Included in the list of traffic accidents were a Central High school bus getting stuck in a ditch on Highway K near 242nd Avenue and a snowmobile accident along 128th Street in Pleasant Prairie that injured an 8-year-old girl. Around 20 teenagers boarded the school bus; meanwhile, the child, who sustained minor head injuries, was taken to a local hospital.
